Mount Isa
Office NQDVRS was established in August
1999.
NQDVRS provides information, support and referrals for
persons affected by Domestic & Family Violence.
NQDVRS also provides assistance with Domestic & Family Violence
Protection Order Applications and Variations.
Domestic Violence Court Support is also provided for both aggrieved and
respondents. NQDVRS also provides
FAXBACK to the Mount Isa Region. NQDVRS
provides community education, resources and training on Domestic & Family
Violence for
Mount
Isa
and the rural and remote communities. We
also provide community education on the affects of Domestic & Family
Violence on Children. Mount
Isa NQDVRS is a member of the Mount Isa Combined Domestic & Family Violence
Action Group and works towards stopping Domestic & Family Violence in
Mount
Isa
and the surrounding communities. We
believe the best way to do this is by educating men, women and children that
domestic and family violence is never acceptable and there is no excuse for
abuse.
Mount Isa NQDVRS is also a major player in providing
Domestic & Family Violence Prevention Month Activities during the month of
May with other networks and community people.

NQDVRS aims to increase knowledge and
understanding of domestic and family violence to individuals and groups in Townsville and the Northern Region
Court Support
Support is provided in the Magistrates Court for women who have
applied for Protection Orders to assist with their safety.
